Marymount International School June 4-7, 2012

This week I am truly starting to feel the excitement of being a teacher. On Monday, Mrs. Sullivan had me instruct the children with a math sheet. Although, I had helped go over the answers with the class before something came over me and I had my first true "aha" moment at Marymount. As I was simultaneously calling kids to come up to the board to explain problems and walking around the classroom to make sure the other students were following along I had the realization that I was in the right place and that I was going to enjoy the future ahead of me.

Reflecting on this experience I think the best word to describe this week is accomplished. Not only have I emerged myself in the Italian culture I have successfully completed my professional goals. From this experience I have strengthened my skills as an educator and learned valuable knowledge. I have been extremely fortunate to observe Mrs. Sullivan's behavioral management style, which has helped me to develop how I hope to teach one day. I am very thankful for this experience and I know that it has made a significant impact on my life.
